Hello dear Sydney Oracle Community Member,
As discussed during the last Sydney Oracle Meetup we are introducing the Community mailing list. The goal of that mailing list is to let us communicate with each other on daily basis. This become especially important today as we having Christmas break now and will have our next meeting only 12th of January. The distinguish factor from any other mailing list (including oracle-l) is that members of that mailing list are your friends and colleagues from Sydney Oracle Meetup group. We all share one geographical location and time zone. We do have common topics to discuss (including but not limiting to past and future Meetups topics, any Oracle related questions). I would like to mention the author of the idea. The credit goes to Casey Dyke, Database Team Manager, Telstra. Thank you Casey! Please send him greetings if you think it is a great idea ;). From organizers side I would like to encourage you to share you ideas on how we can improve our community. BTW: You can do it using the new mailing list. IMPORTANT - HOW TO UNSUBSCRIBE: We are 158 members today and it is normal that not all of us would like to participate in the mailing list from day one. Therefore I would like to let you know on how you can change mailing list messages delivery options. I found that those steps are not that obvious therefore decided to publish those in details: http://www.sydneyorac... Sign-in => Profile (Right-Top corner) My Meetup Groups => Sydney Oracle Meetup => View profile Edit group profile => Settings => Mailing list You will have the following options: - As they are sent <= For the members who would like to participate actively - In one daily email <= For the members who would like to follow what is going on - Don't send me mailing list messages <= You are on vocation or are not based in Sydney or would like to participate in Meetups but avoid mailing list traffic. All messages will be available in the Archive - http://www.sydneyorac... I am sure that it is a very good initiative and everyone from us will benefit.
