Hello everyone,
IMHO: As Sydney Oracle Meetup is an Oracle Professionals forum it is
important to involve members in decisions of what topics we would like
to see for the future meetups.
To be a bit more practical and bring it close to everyone I decided to
open the discussion in that mailing list.
Please do not hesitate to let others now what do you like to here and discuss.
One of the sources for the future topics is the following link:
http://www.sydney...
I have heard from some of the members that they are interested in more
Development related topics and skips DBAish topics as those are not
directly related to them.
In order to address those concerns I am proposing to try dedicate each
second meetup to Development related areas and keep others more on DBA
side of thinks.
Saying that I don't say that DBA are not welcome to take part in
Development related meetups. There are so many common topics that
would be interesting to both camps.
For example:
-- A HUGE area PERFORMANCE tuning
- Execution plan analysis
- SQL Trace files and how to read those
- How to get an execution plan? What options are available and what
are advantages and disadvantages of each of those
-- Data loading/extracting tools
- How to star using Data Pump
- SQL*Loader, Exp/Imp
- SQL*Plus features
- Best SQL GUI options overview (Toad, SQL Navigator, SQL Developer)
....
As a person close to Meetups organisers I would like to ensure that
your voice is important here.
At the same time we are pleased to hear any volunteer who would like
to help in preparing Meetups presentations/discus
sions and may be
present some topics (with our help and support if needed).
Let's be active and make this world better place to leave :)
