Hello Oracle Community!

Let’s touch a very important subject for each Oracle DBA. This Friday we'll have an informal session dedicated to the discussion around the most popular way of making Oracle Backups nowadays: Recovery Manager. We will talk about RMAN-based backups and share our experience configuring, running and testing them.
I will make a 30-45 minutes presentation and the beginning followed by common discussion about the related topics.

This week is also Oracle Open World week. We may take some time to discuss the first news and announcements from Oracle's biggest annual event.

WARNING: Due to booking issues the date for this Meetup has been changed to FRIDAY. You will have the opportunity to finish your week and start your weekend with a good slice of pizza and a bottle of beer. As always we'll start at 5:30 pm.

Details: Friday, Oct 16th at 5:30pm.

Good discussion and had a couple of practical tips. I found the discussion very interesting with many contributors adding useful knowledge based on experience. I do think though that we need to focus on getting the presentations started earlier so we can get to the juicy bits.

This is precisely what was meant with the original meetup format, please let's have more. Although of course it is always good to have guest speakers - technical and not so technical - let's not forget the original objective of this meetup: to provide a venue for Oracle users to share their experiences and discuss different approaches to their work, without the pressure of a formal/subsidized environment. This last meetup was a return to that concept, after a few instances of guest speaking. And that is welcome.

Very nice, I'm liking this new focus, missed the open world talk though.
