It's been a while we haven't had a pure RAC topic and I have a good one which I'm also going to present at the Oracle Open World 2009 in few weeks. Why don't I run a good preview here in Sydney? It's a unique opportunity to see an Oracle Open World content presented few weeks earlier. ;-)
To be fair, I've been presenting about it for a while and last time I did that as a masterclass during UKOUG Conference 2008 in Birmingham - it was very successful.
The schedule is usual -- start at 5:30pm with our meet and chat (and eat & drink) and proceed to the technical content at 6pm. We will have lots of the material to cover and a live demo on the RAC cluster I setup specifically for that purpose. I'll also try to cover what's new in 11gR2.
Demystifying Oracle RAC Workload Management
This presentation starts with a brief overview of connection management in Oracle RAC and then focuses on workload management, including exploiting cluster services, connection load balancing, and runtime workload balancing. Finally, it shows how to create your own runtime workload management, using the standard load balancing advisory framework. The presentation goes through demonstrations using a live Oracle RAC cluster, illustrating the internals of workload management and how to monitor it. The live demos simplify understanding of this rather complex topic.
Looking forward to see you all there!
